‘But I’d like a portrait to hang at home that wouldn’t always remind me of work.’ ‘Don’t worry it’s not a photo,’ we told Stavros, ‘you won’t see anything of the restaurant!’ So the first thing we did was to remove all trappings of work and replace with a strong colour. The original photograph was of high standard, in focus, full of contrast with strong shadows and bright lights. We suggested the portrait should be stylised, adding colours to his tee-shirt to give the portrait extra dynamism. |
